Program Highlights

Bryant's Sociology and Anthropology major will provide you with a carefully curated slate of courses focused on health and well-being, sustainability, and justice and society. 

You’ll use a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods to explore the causes and consequences of human actions and how those actions shape societal institutions and societal change. Explore societies locally and globally through time to better understand both social diversity and social change. By critically examining contemporary social issues, you’ll learn the roots of those issues and how individual, group, and institutional actions can respond to today’s challenges.

By majoring in Sociology and Anthropology, you’ll be well prepared for professions in a variety of fields, including politics, nonprofit leadership, or public administration — roles that involve research skills and working with diverse groups. Continue your learning through graduate study and earn an advanced degree for careers in areas such as social work, education, or law.

Sociology of Sport

One of Bryant’s most popular courses, Sociology of Sport, focuses on the global aspects of sport, especially the relationship between sport and race, class, gender, sexual orientation, national identity, and culture.
