Develop the skills to transform healthcare data into meaningful and usable information and improve the future of patient care.
Today’s rapidly growing field of healthcare informatics needs creative thinkers who can turn data into strategic solutions. Through Bryant’s integrated curriculum, you’ll gain foundational knowledge in the health sciences, mathematics, data science, and information systems — preparing you to tackle complex problems in the field. You’ll learn how to:
You’ll also put your knowledge into practice through either a senior internship or data science capstone project. Gain professional work experience at a local healthcare organization and receive ongoing supervision from a faculty member, or complete a capstone project on a topic of your choosing that solves a real-word problem in the field of healthcare. Through either opportunity, you’ll demonstrate how healthcare data is collected, processed, and analyzed to make strategic decisions and improve the delivery of care.
Our curriculum consists of engaging coursework that’s designed to prepare you for your future career. Just a few sample courses include:
Looking to expand your analytical skills after graduation? Bryant offers a STEM-designated Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics program that will take you deeper into the optimization of healthcare data. By pursuing a master’s degree, you can maximize your career growth and earning potential and stand out from the competition.
Gain practical experience and grow your confidence through our many internship opportunities.
Engage your analytical mindset by collaborating with faculty on original research in the lab and field.
Expand your horizons and immerse yourself in another culture through one of our study abroad programs.
Work with real businesses to take your leadership skills and career credentials to the next level.
Lessons from a textbook can only take you so far. That’s why experiential learning is at the core of your Bryant experience. You’ll engage in hands-on projects and opportunities beginning your very first year — building skills in critical thinking, learning how to adapt to challenges, and fostering your determination to succeed.
Because the Healthcare Informatics major is an interdisciplinary program in the School of Health and Behavioral Sciences, you have the option to select your complementary minor from either the College of Business or the College of Arts and Sciences — giving you flexibility to design a unique educational path that fits your professional goals.
