Program Highlights

Economic policy enormously impacts global markets, governments, and our day-to-day lives. As an Economics major, you’ll better understand some of the most complex aspects of modern societies and design solutions to challenging issues such as climate change, unemployment, food and water security, government accountability, poverty, and inequality. By learning how to “think like an economist,” you’ll develop skills to identify critical issues, devise policy proposals, and analyze these policies' intended and unintended effects. You’ll also “act like an economist” through real-world research, internships, and national competitions.

Economics majors have the flexibility to select electives that align with their passions and find rewarding careers in various fields, including finance, consulting, management, market research, insurance, healthcare, law, and public administration. By working closely with our nationally recognized faculty, you’ll gain the experience and confidence you need to make a difference in your future career.

College Fed Challenge

Compete against other students from top institutions in the College Fed Challenge. In this team competition that models the Federal Open Market Committee, you’ll work together with fellow Bryant students to analyze economic and financial conditions and formulate a monetary policy recommendation. Present your findings to a panel of judges who are experts in the field and gain firsthand experience in developing economic policy. Bryant’s team has regularly finished as a regional finalist.
