Dr. Oliva joined us from St. Lawrence University where he held the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of French and Italian and Director of the Less Commonly Taught Languages Program where he developed the program to include Japanese, Russian, Slovak, and Korean.
Prior to that Cedric Joseph also taught graduate courses in Pedagogy, and Romance Language Linguistics at California State University, Long Beach. He directed the Lower-Division Language Program and served as the Teaching Associate Program Coordinator for the department of Romance, German, Russian, Languages and Literatures. In his function as Program Coordinator at CSULB, in spring 2016, Dr. Oliva was coordinating all 6 languages (Arabic, French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish) directing up to 48 sections of lower-division per semester and training over 120 Graduate Teaching Associates.
